Arab Palestinian man fears harm if he is deported to Israel

Noor* – Israel

Noor is 62 years old, and he is from the West Bank, Palestine, although his deportation hearing notice lists his country of origin as Israel. Noor fears the ongoing war in Israel. As an Arab Palestinian from the West Bank, he has experienced persecution in the past and fears persecution in the future. He has experienced threats, attacks, and mistreatment by the Israeli government and military, and he lived in fear on a daily basis before coming to the U.S.

Additionally, Noor fears threats and attacks from his brothers. In the past, they have threatened and attacked him multiple times over a land inheritance dispute. Noor inherited land from his grandparents, and his brothers wanted him to give the land to him. However, Noor’s brothers are drug dealers, and they are in and out of prison. Noor did not want to give his land to them, and he and his brothers were in court about this issue. Noor’s brothers assaulted him on multiple occasions.

Noor is eligible for fear-based protection from deportation. He has a couple relatively minor criminal convictions that do not appear to be particularly serious crimes, so he may be eligible for Withholding of Removal. He is also eligible for protection under the Convention Against Torture.
