Where we come in
The United States detains more immigrants than any other country in the world.
Every day, people are torn from their communities and loved ones and sent to remote detention facilities across the country—often leaving children without caretakers and homes without providers. With no right to a public defender in immigration court, too many people are forced to navigate complex legal proceedings alone. We often serve as the last line of defense against detention and deportation for thousands of people.
